Delta app redesign

2023
Design exercise

Problem

Delta’s app was redesigned to give users an easy to understand interface to illustrate how a user accrues points in 4 different categories across flight and spend activity. Although this visual is easier to understand than previous versions of the app, it is not optimized to support device accessibility settings.

This design exercise takes accessibility settings into account and accommodates a wider range of user type settings. This flexibility in layout ensures all users can use the Delta app with ease.

Optimizing for accessibility

Optimizing for accessibility

The images above are set to AX2 (accessibility level 2 in Apple’s dynamic type settings). The image in the middle depicts the way the app in the App Store renders with this accessible type size enabled. To accommodate a wider range of user preferences, the redesigned layout is flexible to render the same content adequately across the varying type levels that Apple supports within the OS. This ensures that all users are communicated with consistently.
